Cibo Calories Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Deep Person LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use Cibo Calories(the "App"), an Android calorie-tracking application (package name com.cibo.calories).

Cibo is designed as a local-first app: your food and calorie logs are stored primarily on your device. We do not operate user accounts for the App, and we do not receive your food logs on our servers.

1. Who We Are

The App is published by Deep Person LLC. For privacy questions about Cibo Calories, contact us at privacy@deep-person.com. For general app support, you may also reach devteam@deep-person.com.

2. Information the App Handles on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Food and calorie entries you create (grams, calories, dates, and related notes).
  • Recipes, daily targets, tracking preferences, and other settings you configure.
  • Optional API keys you choose to enter for food lookup features (see Section 5). These are stored in encrypted on-device storage and are not sent to Deep Person servers.

You can delete your data inside the App or by uninstalling the App (see Section 7). Deleting in-app or uninstalling removes locally stored App data from your device unless your operating system restores it from a device backup. If you exported your food log to a JSON file, that copy is not removed by in-app deletion or uninstall—you must delete exported files yourself wherever you saved them.

3. Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Camera — used only when you choose to scan a product barcode for nutrition lookup. The App does not upload photos to our servers or to third parties.
  • Network (Internet) — used when you look up foods or products by name or barcode, or when optional AI-assisted lookup is enabled with your own API keys.

4. Third-Party Food Lookup

When you search for a food or scan a barcode, the App may send your query (such as a search term or barcode number) to publicly available nutrition databases, including Open Food Facts, to retrieve product information. Those services receive only the data needed to perform the lookup you initiated. Review their respective privacy policies for how they handle requests.

5. Optional AI-Assisted Lookup

If you choose to configure your own API keys in App settings, the App may send food names or related lookup text directly from your device to third-party AI providers you select (such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic) to estimate nutrition information. This happens only when you trigger a lookup and only using keys you provide.

Your API keys are stored in encrypted on-device preferences and are excluded from Android cloud backup and device-transfer rules in the App. We do not collect, store, or have access to your API keys on our servers.

6. What We Do Not Collect

In the current version of the App, we do not:

  • Require or provide user accounts for the App.
  • Collect your food logs, recipes, or calorie data on Deep Person servers.
  • Embed advertising SDKs or sell your data.
  • Include analytics SDKs that track you across apps or websites.
  • Collect precise location data.

If we add accounts, analytics, advertising, or other data collection in a future version, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosures before or when those features ship.

7. Backup, Export, Import, and Deletion

  • Android backup: The App allows Android device backup. Your food log and most App data may be included in backups managed by your device or Google account settings. Encrypted API key storage is excluded from backup.
  • Export / import: You may export or import your food log as a JSON file for device migration. You control where that file is stored or shared.
  • Deletion:You can delete your data without contacting us. Delete individual food log entries, recipe groups, or an entire day's entries inside the App. You can also clear the App's storage in Android settings or uninstall the App to remove locally stored data from your device (unless Android or your device backup restores it—see Android backup above). Export exception: If you exported your food log to a JSON file, that copy remains wherever you saved it; in-app deletion and uninstall do not remove exported files. Delete those files manually if you no longer want them.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App in a way that concerns you, contact us at privacy@deep-person.com.

9. Health and Wellness Disclaimer

Cibo Calories is a food and calorie logging tool for personal wellness tracking. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition estimates from barcode lookup, Open Food Facts, or optional AI features may be inaccurate. Consult a qualified health professional for medical or dietary guidance.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
